- 2 1/2 cups ground gluten
- 1 1/4 cups cracker crumbs
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onions
- 1 raw egg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon MSG (optional)
- 1 1/2 cans tomato sauce (8 oz. can)
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 bottle of lemon-lime soda drink
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons ketchup
Procedure
- Mix together the gluten, onions, beaten egg, salt, and half of the tomato sauce.
- Form into loaf and place in a greased shallow pan.
- Combine the remainder of the tomato sauce and the rest of the ingredients.
- Pour over loaf and bake at 350°F. for 1/2 hour or until done.
- Serve with gravy. Serves 6-8.
